The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has presented state awards to DTEK Dnipro Grids' power engineers for their contribution to the restoration of the grid after the hostilities and for ensuring the operation of the power system in wartime.
Volodymyr Burdiyan, a relay protection maintenance engineer, and Serhiy Sukhomlyn, an electrician, received badges and certificates of honor from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Together with other company specialists, they actively restored the networks of Dnipropetrovsk oblast after missile and artillery attacks. They also helped colleagues restore power supply in de-occupied Bucha and other regions of Ukraine.
"DTEK Grids are the foundation and support for the country's normal life and Ukrainians. Especially now, during the war. We are proud of every power engineer risking their life to keep the energy frontline. Thanks to such professionals as Volodymyr Burdiyan, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, and many other employees, Dnipropetrovsk oblast survived and had electricity and heat in winter despite the invasion of enemy missiles and constant shelling. And we are confident it will survive the next one," said DTEK Dnipro Grids.
DTEK Dnipro Grids eliminated more than 5,500 accidents in the Dnipro region last autumn and winter, which was the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine, including 1,000 caused by hostilities. Due to their proximity to the war zone, the teams had to work under the constant threat of shelling.
Despite all the challenges since the start of the full-scale offensive, DTEK Dnipro Grids has continued to hold the energy front.
Electricians have become one powerful team to quickly restore power to the areas where the fighting has been and continues to be ongoing. They do this so that doctors can save lives, businesses can operate, and Ukrainians can stay in touch with their families and friends and move around the country and abroad.
In May 2023, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov presented state awards to DTEK Dnipro Power Grids power engineers. Seven company employees received medals "For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine" and "Badge of Honour."
