Training and development

We are committed to supporting our employees through continuous training and development that helps them build new skills, progress in their careers and perform their roles with confidence.

Training and development are delivered through Academy DTEK, our corporate learning centre, which provides a wide range of vocational and managerial courses tailored to different roles and levels of experience. Since Academy DTEK was created, over 1.3 million participants have received training across 37,000 educational events. The Academy also works with leading international business schools and professional associations to deliver high-quality programmes aligned with the needs of the energy sector. The Academy’s projects have been repeatedly recognised nationally and internationally, receiving multiple awards. By investing in training and development, we aim to create an environment where employees feel supported, skilled and empowered to succeed.

Health and safety

Protecting the life, health and wellbeing of our employees is our number one priority. Across our businesses, we've integrated occupational health and safety (H&S) into all technical, manufacturing and corporate functions. We promote a safety culture built on zero tolerance for H&S risks and implement measures aimed at maintaining safe working conditions. These include training and briefings on H&S, medical support for all employees and providing protective equipment, among other key interventions.

Employees are also supported through a range of initiatives, including voluntary health insurance, access to corporate psychologists and physical health improvement schemes.

Supporting our employees during the war

Since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion, many DTEK employees have stepped forward to defend the country by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As of March 2026, more than 5,700 DTEK employees – men and women – have served, and almost 4,000 are currently on active duty.

As a company, we support our employees who have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This includes financial assistance, vouchers for tactical gear, extended health insurance, psychological support for service members and their families, and assistance to help resolve potential legal or organisational matters that arise during active duty.

The war has come at a profound human cost. Between February 2022 and March 2026, 433 DTEK employees have been tragically lost. We honour their memory and remain committed to supporting their families. We also support colleagues who have been injured, providing them with financial assistance, medical treatment, rehabilitation and comprehensive programmes for those returning from active service.

Supporting our veterans

DTEK is committed to caring for employees well after they have left active service. Supporting veterans is a natural extension of the values that unite our team – grounded in gratitude, sincerity, honour, pride and long-term commitment.

Our ProVeteran programme provides support to employees returning from military service. We recognise that the transition can be challenging, and we are committed to helping veterans reintegrate into civilian life. Our programme is delivered by a cross-functional team of qualified professionals, including HR, legal, medical, psychological and social policy experts, creating an environment built on mindfulness, respect, and confidence. Through the programme, veterans can access medical and phycological support, extended health insurance, as well as opportunities for reskilling.

Many of our colleagues have already returned from military service to civilian life, with a significant number resuming their careers across DTEK’s offices and facilities. At the same time, we welcome veterans from beyond our organisation, offering opportunities to those joining DTEK for the first time. We are proud that they choose to work with DTEK and place their trust in us.
