A russian strike destroyed part of a DTEK facility in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region on 3rd July, killing a security guard and injuring five other employees, as russia's campaign against the country's energy sector continued into its fifth year.
The attack severely damaged production and administrative buildings at the site and knocked out its power supply entirely. All six casualties received medical treatment; the five injured workers are now recovering, the company said.
At the time of the strike, 86 miners were underground. DTEK Energy activated its emergency response plan immediately, and all were evacuated to the surface without requiring medical attention.
The facility has suspended production and switched to life-support mode while engineers assess the damage. Repair work will begin once security conditions allow. DTEK is providing full support to the families of those affected.
