DTEK is calling for urgent international support to supply essential equipment and replacement parts to restore and protect Ukraine’s energy system. Immediate needs include transformers, pumps, cabling and other critical components required to repair damaged facilities and bring back power.

Overnight, a large-scale missile and drone strike targeted energy infrastructure across several regions. Multiple DTEK power plants were hit as part of this assault. Our emergency teams are on the ground working around the clock to assess the damage and begin repairs. The scale and frequency of these attacks show a continued effort to disable Ukraine’s energy system and disrupt civilian life.

“An extremely serious attack on our power stations overnight. russian missiles and drones hit multiple DTEK plants as part of a massive assault on Ukraine's energy system. We are still assessing the damage, but without question this attack is a bad blow in our efforts to keep power flowing this winter.

Based on the intensity of attacks for the past two months, it is clear russia is aiming for the complete destruction of Ukraine's energy system. We call on Ukraine's allies to defeat them by ramping up supplies of replacement energy equipment, emergency funding to rebuild power stations and rapidly reinforcing Ukraine's air defences.” Maxim Timchenko, DTEK CEO.

DTEK is doing everything possible to restore operations, using all available resources and equipment. Thermal generation remains essential to keeping the system stable and compatible used or decommissioned equipment from partner countries could make a big difference in the months ahead.

Ukraine’s allies have already shown remarkable solidarity and providing vital support in maintaining energy resilience. Their assistance is essential, particularly in reinforcing layered air defences and accelerating access to technical equipment to protect energy assets and ensure electricity supply through the challenging winter months.

DTEK will continue to work alongside the Ukrainian authorities and international partners to restore power and strengthen the resilience of our energy system.
