russia’s overnight assault on Ukraine hit power infrastructure in and around Kyiv, damaging DTEK grid facilities, a high-voltage line and emergency repair vehicles.
A missile and drone attack damaged a transformer substation and a high-voltage power line operated by DTEK Kyiv Grids, the company responsible for electricity distribution in the Ukrainian capital.
The attack also damaged a company production site and 29 vehicles, including emergency response vehicles, excavators, loaders and other specialised equipment used by repair crews.
In Kyiv region, where the grid was also hit during the overnight attack, DTEK teams have already restored power to more than 2,200 families. More than 14,000 customers remain without electricity as emergency repair works continue.
DTEK engineers began work to eliminate the consequences of the attack after receiving clearance from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service and the military.
