Dear friends and colleagues!
Today, Ukraine marks two important dates: the 31st anniversary of its Independence and exactly 6 months of selfless struggle of the entire nation for this Independence. It is hard to comprehend that in the 21st century Ukrainians have to defend their right to live by fighting on the battlefield. We pay an extremely high price for our freedom every day. The lives of citizens, destroyed cities and infrastructure, lost homes, separated families.
Since the beginning of the war, DTEK has lost 69 workers.
Today, the whole country is united for the future victory. From the first days of the war, DTEK Group stood up for the defense of the energy front. Our company makes an all-out effort to ensure the stable operation of Ukrainian energy system. We have restored the power supply to almost 3.5 million families in the Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions that were affected by hostilities. And we continue doing it every day.
We extract coal and gas, actively prepare for the heating season, so that there is warmth and lights in the homes of Ukrainians.
DTEK provided Ukraine with humanitarian aid worth more than half a billion hryvnias.
Today, I want to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 4,500 DTEK employees who serve Ukraine today. I want to thank all Ukrainians for demonstrating strength and courage in the fight against the russian aggressor. And I want to express deep gratitude to all DTEK colleagues, who, despite the war, continue to work effectively.
6 months into the full-scale war and the word Independence gained a whole new meaning. It has become synonymous with freedom, life, and future.
I congratulate everyone on the Independence Day of Ukraine! I wish everyone endurance, faith and continuous unity that we have been demonstrating to the whole world for the past six months.
Victory is with us!
Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
