YASNO Energy Service Projects Annually Reduce CO2 Emissions by 153 Thousand Tons

The energy service company “YASNO Efficiency” has implemented 87 projects for Ukrainian industrial enterprises and budget institutions. The environmental impact of increased energy efficiency is the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 153 thousand tons per year. YASNO Efficiency’s investments in projects total almost UAH 550 million. This was stated by Head of the Investment Development Department of YASNO Efficiency Yurii Bondarchuk at the virtual eco-transformers summit.

YASNO Efficiency invests its own funds in energy-efficient projects of industrial enterprises and state-financed institutions of Ukraine, implements them on a turnkey basis and guarantees customers energy savings. And after expiration of the project period (in 4-5 years), the company leaves the installed equipment for customers in order to maximize further ecological and economic effects.

Among other things, the energy service mechanism allows YASNO Efficiency’s customers to upgrade their lighting, heating, ventilation and heat utilization systems and compressor and gas equipment, implement thermal modernization, cogeneration and reactive power compensation projects, replace and automate electrical equipment, install frequency converters, etc.

According to Yurii Bondarchuk, the enterprises and institutions that have already implemented energy efficiency projects in cooperation with YASNO Efficiency, annually save 171 million kWh of electricity and 1 million cubic meters of gas. This amounts to UAH 350 million in energy cost savings.

“We start implementing an energy service project only if calculations show that it is possible for a customer to achieve reduction in electricity, gas and heat consumption and deliver substantial savings in annual energy costs. And upon completion of a project, all technological improvements remain with the customer and help them further reduce the carbon footprint of their activities and channel savings into their own development or meeting other needs,” said Yurii Bondarchuk.

It has been four years since the Ecotransformation Project was launched to promote the best environmentally friendly practices in Ukraine, show the diversity of challenges faced by modern companies and offer examples of successful environmentally safe businesses. This year, at the summit, leaders of various sectors of the Ukrainian economy shared their expertise, including the PJSC “Zaporizhstal”, Lenovo, PepsiCo, Nestle, JYSK, Halychyna and others.

As a reminder, D.Solutions Group, an operating holding company within the DTEK Group, is developing a YASNO-brand retail electricity and gas supply business for 3.5 million customers in Kyiv and 5 oblasts, and is offering energy efficiency and electric mobility solutions to help customers reduce energy costs and generate an extra income through green technology.
