DTEK took home a rare two prizes at Thursday's Global Good Awards, where it won gold in the Humanitarian Response Champions category for its #FightForLight, and Individual Leader of the Year for CEO Maxim Timchenko. The company also picked up a silver award in the prestigious Overall Company of the Year category.
Judges recognised the incredible efforts of DTEK’s 55,000 people to provide light and warmth to millions in Ukraine under the most challenging of circumstances. They also noted the efforts the company is making to decarbonise, such as the construction of Tyligulska, which will be a 500 MW wind farm entirely build during war conditions, as well as the company’s drive to support the green transition in the EU.
The Global Good Awards are recognised as the gold standard of ethical awards, celebrating organisations and individuals who are driving meaningful change and promoting sustainability across the globe. This year’s winners and nominees included the likes of Octopus Energy, HSBC, EY, Microsoft and Ferrexpo.
DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said: "It’s great to see this recognition at the Global Good Awards in London last night. While russia attempts to undermine our energy system, it is the dedication of our thousands of engineers and energy teams working tirelessly to restore power for millions of families that truly makes a difference. These awards are for you."
