DTEK connects Kyiv and Lviv with network of five high-speed EV charging stations

DTEK has invested UAH 6 million in the installation of five STRUM high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles on the highway between Kyiv and Lviv. Now it is enough for owners of EV-cars to make two or three charging stops for 20-40 minutes between the two major cities. Ukrainian electric car drivers will now find it easier to travel to the European Union.

STRUM chargers with a power of 50 kW along the Lviv highway are located at a distance of 100-130 km from each other:

  • in Zhytomyr on the territory of the Mitsubishi dealership, Nezalezhnosti Ave., 168a / 1;
  • at the gas station Galileo, Natalyivka, Zhytomyr region;
  • at the SOCAR gas station, Belaya Krynytsya, Rivne region;
  • at the Shell gas station, Bugayivka, Rivne region;
  • in Lviv – on the territory of the Audi dealership, Lipinsky St, 54 D.

“STRUM chargers are located in places where travelers can rest comfortably, have time to drink coffee or get a snack. And of course, the best coffee should be drunk in Lviv! Defining locations for installation of charging stations, we give preference to cooperation with modern gas stations and car dealerships. All five charging stations in the direction of Lviv have already been tested. In a Hyundai IONIQ Electric car, we checked that its battery at the STRUM station charges faster than a mobile phone. Given that it’s only 80 km from Lviv to the border with Poland, it is possible to go traveling further across Europe, charging with local operators”, said Igor Kovalev, head of the network of charging stations for STRUM.

In the first half of 2019, 3.18 thousand electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 58% more than during the same period last year. With the development of infrastructure, the demand for environmentally friendly transport will continue to grow.

After the opening of motorways between Kyiv, Odesa and Lviv, DTEK plans to install high-speed charging stations in the direction of Poltava, and eventually to Dnipro. By the end of this summer, the STRUM network will grow to 23 high-speed charging stations, and the volume of DTEK's investments in charging infrastructure will increase to 30 million UAH. Now 19 stations are available in the mobile application STRUM Charging for iOS and Android.
