DTEK power engineers were honored with awards from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine

Almost two dozen Ukrainian power engineers and energy sector workers have received awards from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for their daily work and restoration of the Ukrainian power grid after the shelling. Among them are five employees of DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP.

Energy Minister German Galushchenko presented the awards during his working visit to the Lviv region.

Oleg Ivakhiv, Chief Engineer of DTEK Dobrotvirska TPP, was awarded a certificate of honor from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine for exemplary performance of his professional duties and for ensuring the operation of the electricity sector under martial law. Mykola Kharko, the plant's boiler and turbine department manager, was awarded a certificate of merit. The Ministry also recognized three other employees of the plant: Volodymyr Garasyuk, a diesel locomotive driver of the fuel and transportation department; Mykhailo Boris, an electrician for maintenance of power plant electrical equipment, and Mykhailo Marenych, a manual welder of the Dobrotvirsk section of the boiler repair shop of Galremenergo.

Herman Galushchenko and the head of Lviv regional power distribution company Maksym Kozytskyi thanked the power engineers for their diligent work during the full-scale war, especially during the most massive attacks on energy facilities in the Lviv region.

"Please accept my deepest gratitude for the work you do every day and for your contribution to the restoration of Ukraine's energy system. Last winter was difficult for everyone; new challenges lie ahead, and I count on you. These thanks are the least we can do for you. Please know that you, the power engineers, have proven that you can hold your own, and in the future, we will celebrate our energy victory as well. It is an honor for me to award and thank you personally!" Galushchenko emphasized.

According to Kozytskyi, over the past year, everyone learned a lot of new words related to energy - blackout, kilowatt, and megawatt. But every time, after each shock, they said, "Thank you very much to the electricians and power engineers."

"Because without you, we would not have survived that winter. We are facing huge challenges. Thank you very much. We are holding on. I hope that children will continue to want to become power engineers and electricians in Ukraine because your profession is essential. Thank you!" the head of the Lviv region added.

In total, 17 power engineers and energy sector workers in Ukraine received the Ministry's awards.
