DTEK Oil&Gas strategy is based on ESG principles (environmental, social governance). Implementation of climate-neutral technologies is one of strategic tasks. In this mater, the Company focuses on European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals by UN.
When giving a speech at Carpathian Oil & Gas Conference 2021, Yuliia Borzhemska, regulatory policy manager of DTEK Oil&Gas, noticed that gas would play an especially important role within the period of a significant transformation of the energy sector and transition to a fully renewable generation. In the period of energy transition, it will be used to replace coal and other fuels with a more significant carbon footprint. Now the industry is facing a double challenge: to meet the growing demand for energy resources and to satisfy consumers’ request for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. CO2 emission management and adaptability in a rapidly changing energy landscape are becoming key competences for oil and gas companies.
«Due to consistent investments in the latest technologies, DTEK Oil&Gas not only increases the gasproduction, but also minimizes the impact on the environment. As a technological leader of the industry, we are ready to become a decarbonization driver of the Ukrainian gas production. We are also ready to unite the industry around this matter. The company works on the adaptation and implementation of the technologies, which no one has been using in Ukrainian gas industry so far», - noticed Ihor Shchurov, CEO of DTEK Oil&Gas.
