DTEK Commits UAH 491 mln in Humanitarian Aid and Support of the Defenders of Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, DTEK Group has provided UAH 491 million in support of the Armed Forces, the Territorial Defense Forces, and humanitarian aid. Among the priority areas of assistance are the purchase of protective equipment for the military, medicines, food packages for Ukrainians, and support for internally displaced persons.

DTEK continues to provide the required equipment, hardware, and transport to the defenders of Ukraine. The company allocated 142 vehicles from its fleet for the needs of the Armed Forces and Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, among them were SUVs and minibuses that are now used to protect people. Caltta transceivers were handed over to the State Border Guard Service, and the Armed Forces received a batch of tourniquets.

All of DTEK Group’s businesses work closely with the authorities and local governments to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation participated in the Save Lives project to provide humanitarian aid throughout the country. While working towards the main goal of the project — to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine — DTEK representatives provided food to residents of Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts.

The company, in cooperation with the Foundation, has also purchased and delivered 5 top-of-the-line wound therapy devices, Renasys™ Touch, to the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDIT.” DTEK also arranges delivery of generators for autonomous power supply to hospitals and territorial hromadas in a number of regions.

DTEK Group companies continue to provide fuel to the Armed Forces and Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, and as part of the humanitarian aid, — over 30,000 liters of condensate and diesel fuel. Apart from that, over 450 tonnes of coal were provided to Ukrzalisnytsia to be used for evacuation trains. Over 100 tonnes were sent to territorial hromadas to be used for their needs and heat supply.

“Helping Ukraine is our absolute priority. This is a consistent stand of the company and its shareholder Rinat Akhmetov throughout the 8 years of the war. Our main task is to help the country win this war: protect our independence and territorial integrity,” said Maksym Timchenko, CEO of DTEK.

Since the beginning of the war, DTEK Group has also provided military and hospitals in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk Oblasts with UAH 137 million worth of free electricity.

Over 100 institutions are currently provided with free electricity.

To recap, Rinat Akhmetov has donated more than UAH 2.1 billion to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine, and as humanitarian aid to the war-affected population since the beginning of the full-scale war.
