DTEK’s plans to quadruple the size of its Tyligulska wind farm in Ukraine has featured in POLITICO’s Global Playbook newsletter. Announced at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum at Davos, the project involves an investment of €450 million, backed by Denmark’s state-owned export and investment fund, and will see DTEK partner with global leader in sustainable energy solutions Vestas. When completed, it will be Eastern Europe’s largest wind farm, per DTEK.

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said the project should only be the beginning for similar Western private sector-fuelled investments. “For us it was extremely important to continue our actions in Ukraine, to continue building and continue realizing this project, and bringing this as an example to other companies and investors to come to Ukraine,” he told POLITICO.
