In a recent interview with BBC Sounds, Dmytro Sakharuk, Executive Director of DTEK, provided a stark assessment of the damage to Ukraine's energy system following devastating russian missile and drone attacks.
"The situation is very serious. The level of damage is enormous," Sakharuk stated.
He explained that all of Ukraine's thermal power plants have been damaged, with many units completely destroyed or very significantly damaged by the russian strikes.
