Schneider Electric in collaboration with DTEK responds to World Economic Forum call-to-action and restores essential energy supplies in Ukraine

Schneider Electric has donated equipment to help restore essential energy supplies in Ukraine for more than 1,5M people. The donation was facilitated by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to identify concrete and practical steps its members can take to support humanitarian needs in Ukraine. In coordination with Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the equipment will be deployed by public and private companies in collaboration with DTEK, the major energy producer in Ukraine, to help restore electricity in the regions affected by war.

On March 11, WEF convened a forum of chief executives from its partner companies, academics, civil society leaders and Ukrainian leaders via a special roundtable to discuss the country’s immediate needs in relation to power and energy. The forum focused in particular on efforts to maintain the supply of electricity and heat for the people of Ukraine. The successful implementation of this cooperation between Schneider Electric and DTEK will be a shining example for other international companies seeking to join the WEF initiative to restore the energy supply in Ukraine.

“Today, the civilized world has united in support of Ukraine. The contribution of Schneider Electric is an important step in creating a powerful structure of systematical support of Ukraine amid war. DTEK, as a Ukrainian company, is making an all-out effort in being a reliable partner when it comes to implementation of help provided by the international partners,” – Maxim Timchenko, CEO of DTEK.

Today over 1.5 million people in 974 Ukrainian cities and towns are currently deprived of electricity supply. Schneider Electric is committed in contributing to help restore and maintain energy supply to people in Ukraine.

Implementation of this mission will be in close partnership with the largest private energy company DTEK, which has well-established logistics and expertise to implement humanitarian aid throughout the country.
