CEO DTEK: The energy sector has withstood the first blow

DTEK's TPP energy-generating facilities, distribution networks, green generation, gas-producing assets and mines all continue to ensure the sustainable operation of Ukraine's energy system, supplying the country with coal and gas. Importantly, it means we can provide power to the homes of Ukrainians.

Yesterday, at a meeting with the President of Ukraine, all the Ukrainian energy company CEOs promised to make every effort to ensure the sustainable operation of the industry. And we will continue to do so, coordinating our work online with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and central and local authorities. In addition, we are executing all the commands of the System Operator.

The DTEK anti-crisis coordination headquarters for effective management and occupational safety of the group of companies, which has been prepared in readiness for this eventuality, is in 24/7 operation.

With extensive experience during the war in Donbas, we are guided by the main principle of security and minimising risk for our people.

Today, we have formed a register of key personnel and we are using only the limited number of employees needed to support the country's energy infrastructure work processes. All DTEK employees, except those essential for critical infrastructure, are working remotely. We are providing maximum security conditions for employees.

Our power engineers are working, eliminating any damage to power lines as soon as possible, but only when it is safe for the repair crews. So far, only the Luhansk TPP has been shut down due to damage and active hostilities in the town of Shchastya.

All our systems are isolated from Russia and Belarus, as part of the long-term integration plan with ENTSO-E. Our TPPs have enough coal stockpiled for more than two weeks of operation.

We will do everything we can to keep the lights on.
