Participants of the DTEK Youth Movement have been changing life in the regions of Ukraine for the better for 2 years

Two years ago, on August 13, young DTEK employees created the Youth Movement. The founders were united by common goals to improve the population’s quality of life and develop social infrastructure in the territories where the company's enterprises operate. During this time, young people have implemented more than 350 sports, volunteer and cultural projects.

“At the start of the Youth Movement’s creation, in 2018, we tried to give young people maximum freedom, in order to not to limit their desire for self-realization. They choose the areas of work themselves, form teams and implement projects, determine the importance and secondary importance of tasks. For many of them, participation in the movement has become a good "social lift". Thanks to the opportunity to prove themselves, young people can move up the career ladder, improve their ability to work in a team, improve interaction skills in a team. We believe that comprehensive work with the youth of business and the state will help the development of Ukraine”, says Dmytro Sakharuk, CEO of DTEK Energy.

According to the leader of the company’s Youth Movement Evgenia Volkova, this movement is an opportunity for youth to find like-minded people and the same caring young people. Together, in their free time, they learn, help those who need support, and organize trainings for others.

“Our movement unites over 800 employees of DTEK enterprises from all over Ukraine, who share common values. And we are glad that more and more participants who are striving to make the country better are joining us”, emphasizes Evgenia Volkova.

DTEK supports talented youth and creates opportunities for their education and development. In addition to activities at enterprises and in the regions, young activists participate in the international projects of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine Young SDG Innovators and Upshift UNICEF.

“DTEK employs a lot of talented young people, leaders who introduce innovations, who connect their professional future with the company. I am proud that the Youth Movement, which brings together people who contribute to change, is already 2 years old. Such initiatives contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and comply with the ESG principles that the company is guided by while implementing its own development strategy”, notes Oleksandr Kucherenko, director of sustainable development at DTEK.
