The purpose of the SDG relay run is to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine and the social responsibility of business. DTEK shares the values of society, cares about the future of Ukraine, and supports talented youth.
“DTEK is focused on long-term sustainable development. Our ESG Strategy is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. From its own experience, DTEK strives to demonstrate that Ukrainian business can be socially responsible. We are know that the transformation of the values and corporate culture of an individual business is not enough to transform the country, therefore, the more businesses who undergo this change, becoming open and socially responsible, the more proactively the country will be able to fight against global challenges and solve local problems. It is important to convey this to both other Ukrainian companies and international partners in order to help increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine and achieve Ukraine's Sustainable Development Goals. DTEK decided to take part in the SDG RELAY 2020, as this initiative popularizes the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which allow us all to unite in the pursuit of objectives that will reflect real changes by 2030”, said Director of sustainable development at DTEK Oleksandr Kucherenko.
The organizers will direct all funds raised to the development, implementation and expansion of world-class educational programs on entrepreneurship for Ukrainian youth, who, as a result of their ideas and ambitions, intend to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
“In order for humanity to have a chance to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in just 10 years, we need to act now, by introducing innovative solutions and engaging in partnerships! We are extremely pleased with the strong support of the SDG RELAY from business, educational institutions, public organizations and believe that together we will be able to develop Ukrainian innovations that will change our country for the better and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030”, said the founder of SDG RELAY from NGO Startup Kyiv Alevtina Pabst.
