The energy sector is what each Ukrainian’s well-being depends on. The Energy of Ukraine infographic report was issued to help consumers better understand the present state of the industry, its potential, and reform directions.
Ukraine still remains an energy-dependent country: only two thirds of the consumed energy is produced domestically. However, this dependency can be reduced by increasing own production, developing the renewable energy sector and creating a transparent market.
Andy Hunder, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, noted, “It is important to implement the strategy of increasing domestic gas production and attract investors to the energy sector. Ukraine has to demonstrate a systemic approach to reforming the gas market, and especially radically change the fiscal approach to taxation and implement a regulatory reform. Furthermore, every effort must be made towards reforming the electricity market.”
The report was prepared by the Top Lead content marketing agency supported by the American Chamber of Commerce together with AEQUO Law Firm, DTEK, Bosch Ukraine and Henry-Bleyzer.
