On August 12-14, 2021, the X Festival of innovative projects "Sikorsky Challenge 2021: Ukraine and the World" was held at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI). Innovation DTEK team supports this event for the second year in a row.
This year, the expert council selected 126 startup projects and scientific and technical developments in six sections: “Defense and security”, “Industrial high-tech and space”, “Green energy, hydrogen economy, ecology”, “Biomedical engineering and health”, “Agricultural engineering”, “IT, digital country, cybersecurity”.
DTEK Chief Innovation Officer Emanuele Volpe opened the section “Green energy, hydrogen economy, ecology” with his inspirational speech. DTEK Innovation Manager Vitalii Opryshko was a member of the festival jury. The section was moderated by DTEK Innovation Manager Dmitriy Chernukha.
“During last year's Sikorsky Challenge, we signed a memorandum with KPI to develop the innovative ecosystem of Ukraine. Once again, we see that this festival contributes to the appearance of ambitious startup teams, bright ideas and new exponential and disruptive technologies,” commented Emanuele Volpe.
Within the festival, an exhibition of startup projects and scientific and technical developments was held on the territory of the university. The projects were evaluated by an international jury. As a result, the jury determined four winners in separate nominations in each of the sections.
In addition to the main nominations, the team with the project "Ultrasonic cavitation technology for producing hydrogen from aluminum" became the choice of Innovation DTEK. The startup received the title of the best innovative solution in the section "Green energy, hydrogen economy, ecology" according to Innovation DTEK. All participants of the section received gifts from Innovation DTEK.
