The 4th German-Ukrainian Economic Forum, which will take place in Berlin on 19 March, is an important platform for strengthening economic cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, namely in the energy sector. In August 2020, a joint intergovernmental Statement was signed between Ukraine and Germany to launch the Energy Partnership. The Forum will discuss, among other issues, the Energy Partnership’s key priorities, including the integration of Ukraine's energy markets into ENTSO-E; increasing energy security; decarbonising the economy, exchanging innovations in energy technologies; implementing joint projects in green energy development; the digitalisation of energy infrastructure and establishment of a modern energy system.
Speakers at the forum will include German Federal Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel; President of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Eric Schweitzer; Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Co-Head of the German-Ukrainian High-Level Group on Economic Cooperation, Marco Wanderwitz; State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Andreas Feicht.
Among the delegates of the Ukrainian Government arePrime-Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal; Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Yuri Y. Vitrenko; and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Co-Head of the German-Ukrainian High-Level Group on Economic Cooperation, Olha Stefanishyna.
