russia carried out another terrorist attack against Ukraine’s civilian energy facilities on Monday night, hitting and severely damaging one of DTEK's thermal power plants. Electricity production was halted at the plant, which cannot be named for security reasons.
DTEK engineers are on site and working to repair the damage and restore operations. There were no casualties, according to preliminary information.
russia has repeated targeted Ukraine’s energy system since its full-scale invasion in Feburary 2022, in an attempt to cripple Ukraine’s economy and break people’s spirit. However, DTEK engineers and workers from across the energy system have largely been successful in maintaining power across the country.
DTEK Group is the largest private investor in Ukraine’s energy sector, with 55,000 employees and over €12 billion of capital invested since 2005.

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, DTEK Group has restored power to millions of consumers across regions affected by hostilities.
DTEK Group is 100% owned by SCM Holdings. The ultimate beneficiary and sole shareholder is Rinat Akhmetov, a businessman and philanthropist.
