russia has resumed its terrorist attacks on DTEK power stations. Late last night, 7th October, it attacked one of our thermal power plants, seriously damaging machinery. Two of our workers were injured and are receiving medical care.
Our teams on the ground have begun to assess damage and are doing everything possible to resume operations there.
The attack takes place on the eve of Ukraine’s winter heating season, however DTEK is doing everything possible to ensure russia’s fails in its attempts to deny heat and light to Ukrainians. Last year, russia launched 13 massive strikes on Ukraine’s energy system – 10 of them against DTEK power plants. This is the 206th time a DTEK power station has been hit in a russian attack since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
DTEK engineers are coordinating with transmission operator Ukrenergo to ensure uninterrupted power to consumers.
