DTEK Group digest from October 5 – 19, 2023
  • DTEK prepared for another wave of russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy system

A year after russia lunched massive assault on Ukraine’s energy system, DTEK announces that it’s ready for another act of energy terrorism to be committed by russians this winter. In close cooperation with Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, DTEK has spent seven months working tirelessly restoring energy infrastructure and building up defense measures. The company pledges to make an all-out effort to ensure there is warmth and light in the houses of Ukrainians throughout the upcoming winter months.

  • DTEK RENEWABLES AWARDED THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT UKRAINE “PLANET” PRIZE

The United Nations Global Compact Ukraine issued an award to DTEK Renewables for constructing the first stage of Tyligulska windfarm (114 MW) amid russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The company was listed among the winners of Partnership for Sustainable Development 2023 award in the “Planet” category.

  • THE ECONOMIST FEATURES DMYTRO SAKHARUK ON UKRAINE’S WINTER ENERGY CHALLENGE

Dmytro Sakharuk talks about the threat he believes will be even greater than missiles and drones this winter: cyber-attacks. A successful assault “can paralyze the whole system” and that can be “much more dangerous than physical damage”, he says.

  • THE WASHINGTON POST: IN UKRAINE, RUSSIA’S WINTER ATTACKS ON INFRASTRUCTURE HAVE STARTED

In an article covering the winter outlook for Ukraine’s energy sector, The Washington Post quoted DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko discussing the experience learned from systematic attacks on energy infrastructure.

  • THE KYIV INDEPENDENT ON THE READINESS OF UKRAINE'S ENERGY SYSTEM FOR RENEWED RUSSIAN ATTACKS

In an article covering Ukraine's winter preparation, The Kyiv Independent quoted Antonina Antosha, spokeswoman for DTEK, discussing the assumption that russia will again resort to the same tactics this year – will carry out a wave of attacks on energy facilities.
