In the first six months of 2025, DTEK expanded its environmental initiatives across DTEK Grids operations focusing on waste reduction, biodiversity protection and energy efficiency upgrades.
Key results include:
- Waste management and recycling: over 1,000 tonnes of waste processed, including 866 tonnes of scrap metal, 90 tonnes of tyres, 60 tonnes of oil products and 43 tonnes of batteries. Nearly 2,300 waste separation containers now installed.
- Wildlife conservation: 106 white stork chicks ringed and 69 nests relocated to reinforced platforms, with a 98% successful settlement rate under the #EnergyWings project. Read more here.
- ISO 14001 recertification: audits praised green practices including waste separation, stork nest platforms, LED lighting transitions, participation in the "Precious Plastic" project, replacement of oil circuit breakers with vacuum alternatives, environmental protection training, and green space development. More about certifications.
- Digital initiatives: 4.4 TB of digital waste cleared on World Digital Cleanup Day, saving 2,200 kWh of electricity and reducing CO2 emissions by 1,100 kg.
- Plastic reduction initiative: 45 kg of plastic caps collected in 2025 with proceeds funding FPV drone production. Since 2021, DTEK Grids has gathered nearly 900 kg of plastics for recycling.
- Equipment upgrades: over 400 vacuum circuit breakers, 50 oil-free transformers and nine gel batteries scheduled for installation by year-end.
These results reflect our commitment to integrating environmental principles into all operations.
