DTEK Group invested UAH 300 million into restoration of grids in Kyiv region that had been destroyed by the war. This was reported by Mr. Maxim Timchenko, the Group’s CEO.
“Restoration of grids in Kyiv region became a truly unprecedented repair campaign in terms of its scale. Over the course of 45 days, we restored some 10 thousand cable lines, part of which were completely destroyed, and around 3 thousand transformer substations. We engaged more than one thousand of the Company’s professionals and more than 150 maintenance crews. The Company invested around UAH 300 million into restoration of electricity supply - to restore electric power for 260 thousand families and households in Kyiv region that suffered from russian occupation, as soon as possible,” reported Maxim Timchenko.
At first, the plan was to finish the restoration works in 60 days, before June 1. In order to speed up the whole process, the Company additionally engaged its maintenance crews from Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions.
According to DTEK’s CEO, the second and an even more complex stage is still ahead – i.e., restoration of backup power sources and creating more reliable electric supply schemes. At this stage, the minimum of UAH 600 million is supposed to be invested.
In total, DTEK’s energy workers restored power supply for some 1.6 million families in 5 regions since the start of the war. These are Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions, as well as the city of Kyiv.
“From day one of the war, our energy workers use their best efforts to bring back the lights to the homes of Ukrainians as soon as possible. In total, during 84 days of warfare, DTEK’s energy workers restored power supply for more than 1.6 million Ukrainian families,”
said Maxim Timchenko.
