  • DTEK pays half a billion euros in taxes, strengthening Ukraine's wartime economy

DTEK Group contributed half a billion euros (€499,4 million) in taxes in the first half of 2025 — 25% increase year-on-year.

Tax payments are helping to sustain Ukraine’s wartime economy and support critical national priorities including defence, healthcare and community restoration.

  • DTEK invests €143 million to prepare for the 2025/2026 winter season

From January to June 2025, DTEK Energy invested €143 million (UAH 7 billion) in preparing for the 2025/2026 winter, focusing on repairs and maintenance of thermal power plants and strengthening coal mining operations.

At EXPO 2025, Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda, a member of DTEK’s Advisory Council, shared the company`s vision for working with Japanese companies to help rebuild Ukraine’s energy future.

DTEK is actively seeking strategic partnerships with Japanese tech innovators, trading houses, and investors to join forces with a fast-moving, experienced Ukrainian energy leader.

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko reflects on DTEK's transformation through two decades of challenges, growth, and strategic evolution that positioned DTEK as an energy bridge between Ukraine and Europe.

"Two decades after DTEK’s work began, today we are Ukraine’s largest private energy company and its biggest wartime investor. The company is an energy bridge connecting Ukraine and Europe. And we have become a partner, at home and abroad, to those who see the great potential of our energy system", Mr. Timchenko stated via LinkedIn.

  • “The future’s bright, when you stand up and fight”: Oleksandr Usyk supports DTEK’s international initiative to restore Ukrainian energy sector

“The future’s bright, when you stand up and fight” is part of a wider DTEK initiative to rally international support for rebuilding and protecting Ukraine’s energy sector.

Usyk’s victory inspired Ukrainian veterans and energy workers. 

A recent Associated Press article highlights how Oleksandr Usyk, the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, turned his win at Wembley Stadium on 19th July into a deeply emotional moment for Ukrainian war veterans, especially those now working to restore and protect the country’s energy system.

Maxim Timchenko gave his remarks at the URC 2025 main stage panel on “Restoring Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure: Investing in Energy Resilience”, where he stated:

“Today DTEK and our international partners are getting on with the job – on battery storage with Fluence, resilient rooftop solar with Octopus Energy, building Ukraine’s largest windfarm with Vestas, and importing US LNG. New windfarms, smart grids and gas-fired power stations are on their way. Now is the time to deliver real projects that will strengthen Ukraine’s resilience for the future.”

DTEK’s 3rd Annual Energy Evening at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome

DTEK co-hosted the 3rd Annual Energy Evening with the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy and the Atlantic Council, bringing together over 140 distinguished guests.
