  • russia launches massive attacks against Ukrainian energy infrastructure

russia launched more than 100 missiles and 100 drones against Ukraine on the evening of August 25-26, killing at least seven people and severely damaging the country’s energy infrastructure. The attack was one of the worst since the full-scale invasion in February 2022 and caused power and water outages throughout the country. It is the ninth massive attack on Ukraine’s energy system since March 2024 and comes less than 50 days before the scheduled start of the country’s heating season.
  • DTEK expands renewable energy portfolio in Romania

DRI, the EU renewable energy arm of the DTEK Group, will build a new 60MW solar park in Glodeni, Mureș County. This is DRI's fourth renewable energy project in Romania, bringing the company's renewable energy portfolio in the country to 299MW. Read more

  • Boxing champion Usyk backs Ukrainian energy workers in visit to liberated territory

World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Oleksandr Usyk has met with Ukrainian energy workers and thanked them for restoring vital national infrastructure destroyed by russia. Usyk, who beat Britain’s Tyson Fury to become world champion in Jun, visited Moshchun near Kyiv, where infrastructure was ripped apart in a month-long occupation and battle. Read more
