DTEK calls on partners to deprive Russian companies of membership in business associations

A letter calling for the exclusion of Russian companies from global and European associations was sent to international partners today. The letter was signed by DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko and Naftogaz CEO. Yuriy Vitrenko and Head of the Ukrainian Mission to the EU, Vsevolod Chentsov.

The letter is open and can be joined by other companies and organizations. Below is the full text of the appeal:

“Today is already the thirteenth day of the barbarous and unprovoked military aggression of russia against our country, our sovereignty and our peaceful population.

Air strikes and shelling of residential areas of dozens of Ukrainian cities are crimes against humanity that russia refuses to cease.

In solidarity with Ukraine and in condemnation of russia’s barbarity, the international community has launched consultations on an embargo on russian oil. The European Union is considering how to phase out dependency on russian oil, gas and coal. A rapidly growing number of investment funds are divesting from russian assets and international companies are ceasing work with russia.

We urge all European and international energy associations to support this strong stance on russia. Please halt the membership of russian companies within your organizations immediately, if you have not done so yet. Voice your condemnation publicly and openly. We call on you to prevent any representatives from russian owned or controlled companies participating in your meetings or working groups, with immediate effect.

There is no place for barbarity in the 21^st century, on European soil or anywhere in the world!

Stand with Ukraine and do everything you can to stop the russian aggression!”
