Supporting DTEK’s

Since 2014
DTEK, like all of Ukraine, is operating in wartime conditions. Our employees have stepped forward to defend the country.

* DTEK employs 683 veterans of russia's war against Ukraine since 2014: 466 are colleagues who joined the defence forces while working at DTEK and later returned to the team, while 217 joined us with military experience already behind them.

DTEK’s mission
We are proud of every defender who stood up to protect our country.
We are proud of every defender who stood up to protect our country.
DTEK’s mission is to support all veterans, men and women, at every stage of their journey – from mobilisation through to their return to the DTEK team.
Support Programs
Psychological support
We have strengthened our team of psychologists across our businesses (or business units). Working alongside HR specialists, they provide ongoing support to our veterans and are always on hand to help – including support in adapting through mentoring. A mentoring culture has long been established across our production sites and has proven effective over time.
Today, mentoring is taking on new meaning in our work with veterans. Every veteran is assigned a mentor – either their line manager or an HR professional. They help veterans transition back into the workplace.
Retraining
After returning to work, some veterans may need professional retraining. Our 10 Academy DTEK branches make it possible to refresh existing skills, gain new knowledge, or retrain for a new role, quickly and effectively.
Medical care
Every mobilised employee receives free medical insurance from the company. Colleagues who have been injured receive full recovery support. There is also an enhanced "Veteran+" health insurance package available for veterans.
Recovery and rehabilitation
Our recovery and rehabilitation programme helps veterans restore their physical and mental wellbeing after service, and return to fulfilling lives and careers. The company provides medical, psychological, and rehabilitation support tailored to individual needs.
Financial support
On mobilisation, every defender receives a voucher to purchase military equipment from specialist retailers. In case of injury, the company provides financial assistance towards treatment. Should a defender lose their life, DTEK provides financial support to their family.
Accessibility
We are creating an accessible work environment for veterans with disabilities, adapting our production sites and ensuring barrier-free access to workplaces.
We developed "MOZHU" ("I CAN") – Ukraine’s first digital job-matching tool for people with disabilities, including veterans.
We have already created barrier-free enviroments in the above-ground areas of two mines in frontline cities – less than 50 km from the front line.
DTEK currently employs 112 veterans with disabilities.

Coordinators
DTEK has created a dedicated coordinator role to provide veterans with personal, peer-to-peer support as they return to work. Coordinators stay in touch with colleagues during their service, and help them adapt to the workplace, access support and reintegrate into their teams once they’re back.
Trust in action
Thanks to our defenders, we can keep working, hold the energy front and support keep our country’s economy.
"I thought that after coming back from the front, I'd need silence. But it turned out to be the opposite – silence breaks you. So when I heard that DTEK was hiring women at a mine in my hometown, I decided straight away to try it. This job turned out to be exactly what I needed after service. I still remember warmly how the team welcomed me: they showed me everything, explained everything, and supported me. Respect between people, trust within a team, and the feeling that you're in the right place – these matter enormously to me. After service, it's especially important to find yourself somewhere life is in full swing again. At the mine, that's exactly what I found."
"What motivated me to return to work was the wish to keep living with dignity. If that's what you want, I don't see anything standing in your way. Someone who has been through war sees the world differently. That's why even small gestures of attention, support, or a simple step towards us mean a great deal. Don't look away – look at the world, and at the people around you."
"I now work at MODUS X, one of DTEK's businesses. I chose this company because, at such a difficult time for the country, it's responsible for one of the most critical areas – energy. For a time, I defended the country at the front as a soldier. Now, in civilian life, I have the chance to influence the processes that people in the rear depend on every day. For me, that's also a way of being useful to my country."
VeteranDTEK
Every person who returns from the front line is a great source of pride for DTEK. Our colleagues left their everyday lives behind to defend our country, weapons in hand. Today, they are returning to the DTEK family.
Sadly, not all of our
