On Monday, September 6, 2021, DTEK Chief Innovation Officer Emanuele Volpe and Blue Lake Partner David Gilgur participated at an event organized for startups by London & Partners, the state agency supported by the Mayor of London.

The event took place as part of DTEK and Blue Lake project on scouting innovative solutions in Great Britain. Earlier, the company communicated that with the support of its British partner, DTEK plans to build sustainable partnerships between the Ukrainian and British innovative ecosystems.

At the event, representatives of London & Partners talked about how the agency supports international and domestic businesses in high-growth sectors to scale through innovation programmes. British innovative teams learned how DTEK works with innovations in Ukraine, as well as what kind of solutions the company is looking for in Great Britain as part of the Great Great Britain Sprint, joint program for scouting innovative solutions by DTEK and Blue Lake.

“During the event, we got positive feedback from startups. It was great to see their interest when we talked about our Open innovation approach and about the pilot projects that we launch with Ukrainian innovative teams. I am confident that together with Blue Lake, we will find powerful startups in Great Britain and launch successful pilot projects in Ukraine,” commented Emanuele Volpe, DTEK Chief Innovation Officer.

According to E. Volpe, with the help of this project, DTEK will introduce promising innovative solutions in the Ukrainian market, as well as serve as a ‘window’ for Ukrainian startups to the most developed international innovative ecosystem in Europe. He added that DTEK develops partnerships both in Ukraine and abroad, and is an active industrial partner in the international innovative ecosystem.

“Blue Lake helps DTEK to become part of British innovation ecosystem. Today's event is an excellent indicator that the teams here are interested in piloting their innovative solutions in a Ukrainian company. We strive to help DTEK to launch pilot projects that will increase safety, environmental friendliness and efficiency of business, ”said Blue Lake Partner David Gilgur.
