Second batch of humanitarian aid from Schneider Electric and DTEK arrives in Eastern Ukraine

The joint humanitarian project implemented by DTEK Group and Schneider Electric to restore power supply in Ukraine continues, and this week a second batch of equipment was already handed over to the territorial communities in the Eastern Ukraine. Standalone lighting systems were delivered to the Donbas region, where it is now impossible to restore power supply because of heavy fighting. Specifically, the equipment was delivered to the territorial communities in Kurakhovo, Pavlohrad, Dobropillia, Bilozersk and other regions in the immediate vicinity of the front line.

The efforts put in by DTEK Group employees helped residents of eastern towns and villages get standalone street lights powered by portable solar panels from Schneider Electric. This innovative equipment allows not only lighting rooms, but also using it as a phone charger. In addition, we have handed over extension cords to use in bomb shelters as well as portable headlamps and flashlights having a battery life of 8 hours.

Today there are over seven hundred settlements in Ukraine without power because of military hostilities. Energy workers are working day in, day out to restore power supply in the freed areas. Since 24 February, DTEK's energy workers have brought the lights back to more than two million homes and keep on working to restore power.

Schneider Electric has responded DTEK Group's appeal to international companies for help to restore power supply in Ukraine. In coordination with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, DTEK Group hands over equipment received from Schneider Electric to state-owned and private companies in order to help restore power in the regions hit by the war.
