The “Your Hometown Begins with You” mini-grants competition, which has traditionally been held with the financial support of DTEK, has begun
The goal of the competition “Your Hometown Begins with You” is to activate the local communities to improve social infrastructure. Residents can apply for funding to implement projects for the improvement of communities, after which the competition committee will determine the winners. Grants can reach UAH 85,000.
This year, residents of Machukhovskaya and Velikosorochinskaya, merged territorial communities in the Poltava Region, an area in which DTEK Oil&Gas business operates, can take part in the competition.
Alexander Shevelyov, Head of the Communications Department of DTEK Oil&Gas, emphasised: “For many years, DTEK Oil&Gas has been a reliable partner for local communities. This year we decided to broaden the ways of cooperation and initiated the competition “Your Hometown Begins with You” in the territories of our activity. This will help raise the level of community development and implement many important social projects”.
DTEK, as a socially responsible business interested in sustainable development of territories, supports projects aimed at increasing the competitiveness of regions, improving the quality of life in cities and towns.
“DTEK is systematically developing the “Your Hometown Begins with You” project, as it contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and complies with the ESG principles that the company is guided by while implementing its own development strategy. We actively support entrepreneurial and social initiatives; invest in social partnership programs; and create opportunities for the training and development of talented youth, demonstrating from our own experience that Ukrainian business can be socially responsible”, said DTEK Energy Director for Regional Policy Tatiana Overina.
Thus, the “Your Hometown Begins with You” is being held with the support of DTEK for the eighth time. Between 2013-2019, more than 1,500 projects received funding as a result of the competition.
