Academy DTEK and the UN Global Compact Network in Ukraine sign a Memorandum of Cooperation

Academy DTEK signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with UN Global Compact Network in Ukraine. As a socially responsible organisation, Academy DTEK aims to promote sustainable development through the provision of quality life-long education.

As the company enters a new phase with the implementation of the 2030 strategy, Academy DTEK seeks to contribute to the emergence and development of a new generation of managers in business and government, who will make Ukraine a source of pride for every Ukrainian. UN Sustainable Development Goal # 4 to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” is among Academy DTEK's top priorities in social partnership.

“Global societal changes are impossible without appropriate culture and education. Unfortunately, over the past five years in Ukraine, the number of adults who enroll in educational courses has decreased, despite the state's goals to increase this indicator. Confidence in public education is also falling. Consequently, the educational function has to be promoted by the public sector and business, opening up access for wide groups to the world's best educational practices”, said UN Global Compact Ukraine Chief Executive Director Tatiana Sakharuk.

“We systematically implement educational projects for talented youth, employees, representatives of the business community and the public sector. It contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and complies with the ESG principles,” said Rector of Academy DTEK Valeria Zabolotna.

She noted that Academy DTEK strives to create an environment in which everyone can fulfill their potential. This approach promotes the emergence of new ideas, the introduction of innovations and innovative solutions. Accordingly, DTEK will be able to work for the progress and prosperity of society.

DTEK adheres to the principles of sustainable development and has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2007. In 2010, the company joined the Global Compact alliance in Ukraine.

DTEK launched a new long-term strategy based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals in 2020, which complies with the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles. This strategy reflects the mission of business - to work for the progress and prosperity of society.
