About project

DTEK and Fluence, a global leader in energy storage, have announced the early launch of one of the largest energy storage systems in Eastern Europe. The project was announced at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome.

The six energy storage facilities, each with a capacity of 20 MW to 50 MW, will provide a total of 200 MW of capacity and will be able to store 400 MWh of electricity, enough to power 600,000 Ukrainian homes for two hours. Once fully operational, the systems will provide balancing, frequency and power reserve services, which will strengthen the Ukrainian power system. This is particularly important during emergencies and will reduce the need for stabilisation blackouts, which have a negative impact on households and businesses.
