Messages from management

On 9 December, the world marks International Anti-Corruption Day – a reminder that success in business is impossible without integrity, transparency and trust.

For DTEK Group, this is not just a date in the calendar, but an opportunity to emphasize that zero tolerance for corruption remains one of the core principles behind our decisions, partnerships and everyday work.

On this occasion, DTEK’s leaders share how they see the role of ethical, transparent business in today’s world, what threats corruption poses for companies and communities, and the practical steps DTEK takes to prevent and counter corruption across all areas of our operations.

The hidden force that helps our energy power life

DTEK’s mission is clear: our energy powers life. But to deliver on this mission, we need more than power plants and grids – we need trust. Trust is what enables partnerships, attracts investment and drives Ukraine’s integration into Europe’s energy system. It is the hidden force that will enable us to not only recover from war but build a stronger energy system.

That is why we place such a strong emphasis on integrity and transparency and enforce a zero tolerance approach towards corruption. At such a critical moment in Ukraine’s history, we must do everything possible to open new doors to cooperation and enhance our reputation.

This is not a new idea for DTEK. From its creation in 2005, our shareholder Rinat Akhmetov was clear DTEK had to be a truly European company, with European values at its core. It’s why we take anti-corruption training and enforcement so seriously, and why we have invested so much in systems to monitor our progress and track funding.

International Anti-Corruption Day serves as a useful moment to remind ourselves about this issue: that at stake is not a tick-box exercise, but our ability to power life for millions of people.

9th December is a reminder of our shared responsibility to stand against corruption. More than two decades have passed since the United Nations adopted the Convention Against Corruption and the international community united around its shared principles, recognising that corruption holds back progress. This is why this day is more than marking a date - it reinforces that combating corruption builds trust, supports sustainable development and strengthens economic stability.

Preventing corruption is at the heart of how we conduct business at DTEK. Assessing the integrity of our business partners, managing conflicts of interest, and implementing proper risk-mitigation measures are core elements of our compliance framework.

This year, DTEK Compliance Team conducted a comprehensive training programme for the employees, and the response has been outstanding. More than 12,000 employees have completed the training, and we are grateful for everyone’s commitment and support. For our teams in the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK and other international offices, we also introduced an English version of the "Anti-Corruption" video course, which was developed in partnership with the UN Global Compact Ukraine and over 40 organisations and experts.

Our commitment to anti-corruption extends beyond risk mitigation. It reflects our belief that ethical conduct delivers long-term value for the company.

As we look ahead, we recognise that a culture of integrity requires continuous attention and reinforcement, open dialogue, and accountability at all levels. We are confident that our ongoing efforts to strengthen the compliance culture at DTEK will continue to build trust with our partners and contribute to a more responsible and sustainable business.

Transparency and integrity are the foundation of trust in D.Solutions. Corruption contradicts these values, as it creates significant risks for the business, undermines reputation, and hinders development of the company and Ukrainian the energy sector.

In working with contractors, suppliers, and partners, we recognize the possibility of corrupt practices or improper influence. To minimize such risks, D.Solutions applies a comprehensive approach: thorough integrity checks of counterparties, transparent and competitive procurement procedures, control of critical processes, and prompt response to any facts or suspicions of misconduct.

The principle of zero tolerance for corruption is D.Solutions’ daily practice. I expect responsibility, consistency, uncompromising adherence to compliance standards from our team, and from our partners – respect for our requirements and readiness to work openly and honestly.

Consistent anti-corruption efforts strengthen D.Solutions, enhance resilience of Ukrainian energy system, and protect interests of our customers. Transparency is our conscious choice, our commitment, and our strength.

Zero tolerance for corruption is not just a corporate policy. It is our DNA. Honesty, transparency and fairness are the very “renewable sources” from which we draw strength and energy for our business.

Preventing corruption for us is, first of all, openness in our reports, communication with partners, dialogue with authorities and relations between colleagues. DTEK Renewables ensures transparency in decision-making at all levels: from selection of suppliers to implementation of large-scale projects on the construction of wind and solar power plants, energy storage facilities.

The company guarantees protection of every employee who conscientiously reports red flags of corrupt behavior. Your courage to protect the integrity of the company is a significant contribution to our common cause.

Any form of corruption is betrayal of our ideals. It undermines trust, distorts competition and, ultimately, harms the energy security for which we all work.

Thank you all for adhering to these standards. Together, we not only generate clean energy, but also support the principles of sustainable development and foster a culture we can be proud of.

On the occasion of Anti-Corruption Day, I would like to reiterate our position: D.SERVICE has zero tolerance for corruption – this is an unwavering principle. As a strategic partner for many businesses, we understand how important it is to create an environment where decisions are made honestly and processes remain clear and transparent.

Corruption risk exists in any field, and services are no exception. Non-transparent requirements or conflicts of interest can affect service quality and trust between companies. That is why D.SERVICE has developed a culture where responsibility and integrity are a natural part of everyday work.

We adhere to the company's compliance policies, clear rules of interacting with partners, and support mechanisms helping to identify and prevent risks in a timely manner. This allows the D.SERVICE team to provide high-quality service and build honest, long-term partnerships.

I am convinced that transparency is not only a requirement of today's world, but also the basis for the sustainable development of the service business. At D.SERVICE, we continue to work so that our activities prove this principle in practice every day.

Transparency is the foundation of trust in any business, and in the technology sector it matters even more. For MODUS X, the principle of zero tolerance for corruption is a core element of our corporate culture and our responsible approach to work.

We operate in an environment where data accuracy, process reliability, and predictable decision-making directly influence the company’s performance and reputation. That is why integrity is not a formality for us — it is a basic requirement for a healthy operating model.

CEO, DTEK Grids

Anti-Corruption Program for DTEK GRIDS – not a formality. Every day we work on ensuring that our decisions are transparent, and the main instrument here is digitalization, which eliminates the human factor and risks of abuse.

This works both externally and internally. For clients, we have established equal rules: more than 80% of services for businesses are already online, and the "digital twin" of the grid automates processes. In the same way, we honestly build relationships in the team: a new digital rewards platform has made the system of accruals and benefits absolutely open, without any "grey zones" or opportunities for manipulation.

Transparency is complemented by open dialogue. Monthly town halls with directors and systematic analysis of feedback guarantee that every signal will be heard.

We pay special attention to education, because knowledge prevents misconduct. When we pass anti-corruption training, we don't just memorize rules, but learn to recognize risks in real work situations. I am grateful to the team for a serious attitude toward learning.

It is trust that holds us together during the time of war and helps us build a resilient company. Thank you to every employee of DTEK GRIDS for your responsibility in daily work.
