DTEK has taken its commitment to ethical business conduct to the international stage, launching the English version of its “Anti-Corruption” training for employees and partners worldwide.
Launched in February 2023 by the UN Global Compact Ukraine, the video course was created in collaboration with a working group that included DTEK’s Compliance Service alongside more than 40 organizations and 50 experts. The course is hosted on Ukraine’s Diia.Business, Diia.Education and MEGOGO platforms, is available to more than 500,000 users and has already been adopted by leading Ukrainian companies, reaching over 100,000 employees.
- Expanded reach in 2025
In 2025, DTEK, in collaboration with the UN Global Compact Ukraine, translated and adapted the training and course materials into English. Both the Ukrainian and English versions have been integrated into DTEK’s anti-corruption training system, aiming to strengthen compliance culture, prevent and combat corruption, and ensure alignment with ESG regulatory requirements.
To date, more than 7,000 DTEK employees have successfully completed the training since 2023. The English version has been made available to staff at DTEK’s European offices and, as the program is publicly accessible, it can also be used by businesses worldwide. This initiative underscores DTEK’s commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to corruption and its active contribution to global anti-corruption efforts.
Oleksandra Moskalenko, Chief Legal Officer of DTEK, said:
“Sharing practical tools to prevent corruption is an indispensable part of our commitment to building sustainable and responsible business practices worldwide. This training helps employees recognise risks early, act with integrity and personal accountability, and build a culture where transparency is a daily practice, not just a formal requirement. We encourage other companies to adopt it and join us in promoting business ethics worldwide.”
- Interactive and practical approach
The “Anti-Corruption” training consists of a series of interactive modules, each including a short episode, followed by a brief test to reinforce and assess understanding of the provided information.
The training modules cover the following topics:
- understanding corruption risks for businesses;
- identifying and preventing prohibited practices;
- building transparent and ethical cooperation with government authorities;
- the role of compliance officers and fostering effective cooperation with whistleblowers;
- strengthening the “tone at the top” and leadership accountability in anti-corruption efforts.
The training course ends with a comprehensive test, enabling participating employees to consolidate their knowledge and apply it in real-world situations.
- Why it matters
This training course was developed by businesses for businesses and is part of the UN Global Compact Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Collective Action initiative. It is designed not only to raise awareness, but also to provide companies with practical steps to meet anti-corruption requirements, safeguard their reputation, and build trust with partners, customers, and society.
Tetiana Sakharuk, Executive Director of the UNGC Ukraine, Chair for the Regional Network Council for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the UN Global Compact, said:
“Transparency is a key factor for international partners, as it underpins trust, investment, and the effective rebuilding of Ukraine. At the UN Global Compact Ukraine, we understand this fully and consistently promote a culture of zero tolerance for corruption.
This is why we developed the “Anti-Corruption” video course, based on real-life cases from Ukrainian businesses. It provides guidance on how to protect your rights, maintain transparency in operations, and counter opaque schemes. Over 50 representatives from business, government, and civil society contributed to its development, sharing their experiences, challenges, and solutions.
