Britain’s The Times newspaper has reported on DTEK’s building of the Tyligulska windfarm despite war and a call by CEO Maxim Timchenko to unlock military aid to protect not only the country’s territory but also its energy system.

“Despite early successes against Russia this winter, today we face renewed danger. DTEK is doing everything it can to protect assets, however the ultimate defence lies in robust air-defence systems,” the paper quotes Timchenko as saying. The chief execuitve urged the US and other allies to expedite military aid to protect both territorial integrity and vital infrastructure.

"We have one power station just ten kilometres from the front line. It is under shelling every single day. People come to work knowing that they will be attacked by Russia and they still come, understanding how important this power station is for the region where they live.”

DTEK facilities have been targeted over 150 times since the beginning of the year.

Timchenko also reiterated his call for international investment in Ukraine's economy, stressing the pivotal role of the private sector in rebuilding the nation and emphasizing the readiness of DTEK to collaborate with international partners and suppliers.
