Energy under attack

russia has weaponised energy, targeting civilian infrastructure in violation of international law. Our facilities have endured unprecedented assault, yet we continue to restore power.

  • 90% Generation capacity damaged. By March-April 2024, 90% of our thermal power generation was damaged or destroyed by russian attacks.

  • 200+ attacks on our plants. Since February 2022, our power plants have been attacked more than 200 times with missiles, drones, and artillery.

  • 13M People without power. At one point, 13 million Ukrainians were simultaneously without electricity due to coordinated attacks on infrastructure.

  • €15B Infrastructure damage. Estimated damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure exceeds €15 billion, with reconstruction costs projected at €47 billion.
