DTEK Grids’ #WorkOfLight project won the 2021 Golden World Awards for Excellence, organized by the International PR Association (IPRA). The project won in 2 nominations at once: "Corporate communications" and "Reputation and brand management".

The main goal of the #WorkOfLight project is to tell people about the DTEK Grids work and to enhance confidence for the brand. To this end, the company set itself the task of increasing customer awareness about the energy sector and the work of DTEK Grids' Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and, as a result, reducing the number of negative user comments on social networks. In addition, the project aimed to engage employees to participate in the project as brand ambassadors.

“Two years ago, my team and I really wanted to make the DTEK Grids business more open, understandable and friendly to our customers. To form knowledge about the values of our business, about the changes that are taking place, about our desire to become the best for our customers. Moreover, to make a rather complicated and confusing energy sector closer to people. This is how the communication project #WorkOfLight was born. In essence, this is a video series on Facebook, which tells about the daily work of our employees in simple words. These stories are real, “no makeup” or embellishments. About what people do for people. I think that's why they resonate with the company's customers. Now DTEK Grids continues to develop the project and is looking for new topics and formats,” says Diana Kladova, Head of Communications at DTEK Grids.

Short videos tell you how the company deals with failures, builds facilities, develops new services for customers and takes care of the environment. Since DTEK Grids launched the project in January 2019, the world has seen 950 video stories, their audience coverage is more than 62 million reach. Almost 1,000 employees of the company took part in the project, including 850 technical specialists and more than 100 customer service specialists. The Golden World Awards for Excellence was established in 1990 by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA). The award recognizes companies and projects from Europe, Asia, USA, and Africa for excellence in public relations practice in 37 categories. All winning projects must meet and promote the sustainable development goals of the UN Global Compact.
