In developing inclusive solutions for its website, DTEK focused on the recommendations of relevant Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and the best practices of international corporations and organizations, including the US Federal Government. On top of that DTEK, as well as other organizations in Ukraine, now uses the "Barrier-free Handbook" in its communications.

"In the issue of creating equal opportunities and development of digital services, there can be no insignificant details, every element of the system is important. DTEK considers the site as one of the most important channels of communication with stakeholders, which is confirmed by our research. That is why we have decided to add elements of inclusive design to DTEK's corporate website,” said Olga Zakharova, DTEK's Corporate Communications Director, adding: “In November 2020, DTEK joined the Business Without Barriers initiative, in which DTEK together with other Ukrainian companies have committed to creating opportunities for the social inclusion of those most in need - people with disabilities, the elderly, young parents, women and the youth. As a responsible employer, DTEK already creates and adapts jobs for people from inclusive groups, as well as implements dual education projects. And thanks to social projects, DTEK promotes the barrier-free principles in the regions of Ukraine. Logically, moving forward and building barrier-free communications, and DTEK has decided to start with itself - with its home, its website. "

DTEK implements a comprehensive approach to business inclusiveness and building a barrier-free society. This is embodied in the company's practices towards its employees, customers, and communities. For each of the stakeholder groups, DTEK aims to make its maximum possible contribution to building a barrier-free environment. These commitments are not only enshrined in public declarations (such as Business without Barriers, or international initiatives - the UN Global Compact, Valuable 500, Women's Empowerment Principles), but also confirmed by specific actions and deeds. For example, in 2021, DTEK financed more than 300 projects of volunteers and public activists in the regions of Ukraine within the framework of the grant project "Community with your own hands". More than 50% of these projects were aimed at building inclusive infrastructure and reducing barriers.
