Philipp Leckebusch appointed Chief Technology Officer at DTEK

Philipp Leckebusch has assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer at DTEK. In this position, which was introduced as part of changes announced in DTEK’s New 2030 Strategy, Mr Leckebusch will be responsible for developing the company's technological vision and will support the implementation of technology strategies across all of the company’s key activities.

“DTEK, as Ukraine's energy market leader, follows global technological trends, which favour the substitution of fossil fuels by renewable resources. We are transforming the business in accordance with our New 2030 strategy based on ESG principles. Philipp Leckebusch will be responsible for analysing and evaluating the application of new technologies in the energy sector, launching and coordinating technology projects, developing new business models with the use of novel technologies, and implementing our technology strategy. Philipp's experience and expertise in the application of new technologies are important for achieving the company's goals”, commented Maxim Timchenko, CEO DTEK.

“The global energy industry is experiencing an unprecedented transition away from a fossil-fuel-based energy system to one supported by renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, biomass and new energy carriers like hydrogen. This process is being driven by new technologies at an accelerating speed, which opens up new competitive business opportunities. New technologies are underpinning the energy transition and are also key tools for achieving DTEK’s objectives. This an area where I will utilise all my knowledge and skills. I feel honoured to be given the opportunity to lead the application of the company’s technological strategy across all business operations”, said Philipp Leckebusch.

Philipp Leckebusch is a senior executive with many years of experience in power, energy supply and renewable energy production. Over the past decade, Philipp has managed the implementation of numerous projects in geothermal, wind, solar and biogas energy at Ferrostaal and MVV Energie (Germany). At MVV Energie, he managed the transformation of the conventional generation asset portfolio into a portfolio with an increased share of RES projects. Previously, he also held senior positions at Alstom Group and ABB.

Prior to undertaking his current role, Philipp Leckebusch also served as CEO of DTEK Renewables, having joined the company on 26 April, 2018. He occupied this position until August 5, 2020.
