DTEK, as a member of the World Economic Forum, shares the values outlined in the organization’s Manifesto in January 2020. Among the main messages of the Manifesto – companies should strive for the well-being of their employees, as well as communities, in which they operate, through their activities. These are the values that DTEK shares and follows throughout its affairs.
“Responsible companies must demonstrate, by their own example that the main task of business is to contribute to the betterment of the country’s economy and regions, in addition to the development of society as a whole. One such manner to do this is through the payment of taxes, on which the country's budget is formed. In 2019, DTEK paid UAH 23.4 billion in taxes to the state budget. This is 2.6% of all taxes received in the budget of Ukraine over the past year and 12.2% of all taxes received by the budget from the country's energy sector”, said DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.
Of the UAH 23.4 billion, 19.6 billion was allocated to the central budget and UAH 3.8 billion to local budgets.
According to the results of 2019, “The Top 100 Largest Taxpayers of Ukraine” included 10 DTEK Group companies: DTEK Pavlogradcoal, DTEK OIL & GAS, DTEK Eastenergy, DTEK Westenergy, DTEK Dniproenergy, DTEK Dobropilliacoal, DTEK Dnipro Grids, DTEK Odesaoblenergo, DTEK Trading, DTEK Kyivoblenergo. Data was published in the Rating journal.
In addition, in 2019, the DTEK Group's payroll amounted to UAH 14.4 billion.
