In July, energy workers brought the lights back to 478 thousand families left without power as a result of shelling. We worked in 590 communities in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions. In some towns and villages, energy workers had to bring the lights back almost every day because of regular rocket and artillery strikes destroying electrical networks.
Most often, we had to repair shelling-damaged networks in the Donetsk region where the fighting is now most intense. In July alone, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists restored power supply to over 457 thousand homes in the region in 522 communities in the Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Volnovakha and Pokrovsk districts. As the fighting remains intense, a major part of homes need to have the lights brought back almost on a daily basis.
In addition, there is a growing number of outages caused by shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In July, energy workers restored power in the homes of 4.7 thousand families. We worked in 12 communities in the Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol districts.
Also in July, we repaired electric networks three times after shelling in the Odesa region. Our specialists restored power for over 3 thousand families in 7 communities in the region.
DTEK’s energy workers have been continuously working for already 159 days and are doing their best together with all the services to make sure that Ukrainians have the lights in their homes.
