Liberated from the occupiers, the Tryfonivska SPP is gradually resuming the production of electricity in the energy system of Ukraine, including providing energy needs of settlements in the Kherson region. Currently, the volume of green electricity generation by the station does not exceed 15% of its installed capacity 10 MW.
We are grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the fact that the Ukrainian flag is flying again on the territory of the Tryfonivska SPP. For our part, we are making efforts so that the station can operate at 70% capacity by the beginning of spring. Since it is green energy in times of war that is an extremely important element of Ukraine's energetical independence and security,
said Oleksandr Selishchev, CEO of DTEK Renewables.
The station stopped generating after coming under occupation. During the occupation and until liberation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the station came under Russian shelling, and also suffered theft of solar panels by the Russian military.
As a result of preliminary inspections, about 20% of the solar panels were damaged. In addition, the operator of the distribution system - Khersonoblenergo - also has certain restrictions on accepting a larger amount of electricity due to the damage to the grid.
DTEK Renewables continues to assess the damage to the station, as not the entire area has yet been checked by minesweepers for the presence of mines or other explosive substances.
