In 2022, a renewed Simple Connections service became available for customers of DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators in 5 regions of Ukraine. This is an improved user account with an option to submit digital documents, required for connection to the power grids, and integrated with the public service Diia. User account enables users to apply for a new connection to the grids and share copies of digital documents. The objective of the project is to create a customer-friendly, transparent procedure for submitting and signing documents related to connection to the grids. Integration with Diia service was implemented jointly with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

DTEK Grids is making the process of connecting to the power grids easier. In February 2022, residents of Kyiv, Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Donetsk region and Odessa region gained access to the online service Simple Connections – an upgraded user account on websites of DTEK Distribution System Operators. This service enables customers to sign up for connection to the power grids and to increase existing capacity online. Public service Diia, fully integrated into the functionality of an online user account, enables users to share copies of required digital documents and to use qualified electronic signature – Diia.Pidpys. The project was implemented jointly with specialists of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

“DTEK Grids strives to become the benchmark for customer focus and introduces up-to-date convenient digital services. Every day we move towards providing the best services to our customers. Today we have improved an online service for connection to the power grids – Simple Connections, – said Ivan Geliukh, CEO for DTEK Grids. – It will help customers submit documents in a fast and convenient manner via public service Diia. We are glad that we have managed to implement this project in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.”

An online user account has a new interface and enables:

  • remote creation of the connection request and receiving a bill for services provided,
  • sharing copies of digital documents by scanning QR-code via Diia mobile app (passport data and tax payer ID number by means of a mobile phone),
  • applying Diia.Pidpys for essential documents by means of Diia,
  • receiving detailed information about status of the connection request.

“Integration of Diia into services of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators is a good example of partnership between the state and private business, which goal is to create up-to-date simple services for Ukrainians. DTEK Grids is one of the first, implementing Diia service to sign up for connection to the grids. We hope that it will become a good example for companies from other important fields that Ukrainians deal with in their everyday lives, for example, water and heat supply, as well as for other DSOs. And they will also go along the path of digital transformation and simplification of customer access to its services”, – noted Mstyslav Banik, Head of Electronic Services Development in the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Customers only fill in the minimum required information in the online user account, while the whole path is reduced from 6 to 4 steps. Connections user account menu is simple, user-friendly and has help features. For example, if a customer is not sure about the capacity to be requested, there is a special calculator to help him put together consumption of home appliances and figure out the capacity to be requested for uninterrupted and safe operation.

Additionally, a mobile version of the online user account and live display of current steps of request processing is now available to the customers. Besides, the customer no longer needs to call the company for clarification of request processing details. The company will be intensively providing the request status via sms or email.

Features of the upgraded user account will gradually expand. The company will constantly improve its service based on customers’ feedbacks. A function of informing about connection status via push-message in the DSO chatbot and a feature of paying for the connection service in the user account will become available in the second quarter of 2022.

Simple Connections are already available for Windows and macOS PCs, and for Android and iOS mobile devices.
