For many, our acquaintance goes beyond ordinary professional solidarity.
We studied together, worked together. We were friends. We congratulated each other on professional holidays and always wished happiness, health, and peace.
Peace! But it's been a week since peaceful times ended for us.
Peace was destroyed by Russian missiles hitting our residential buildings. Russian tanks tormenting our villages, crushing our cars. Russian shells that cut power lines and destroyed substations. Russian troops believing they are liberating us. Just like, most likely, the Nazis 80 years ago believed that they were liberators.
We work under bullets, “grads”, “tornadoes”,” buratinoes”, “iskanders” and other instruments of death, which our children have already learned to identify by the sound of approach and explosion.
Every hour we go out into the fields and raise the footings, extinguish fire in transformers and re-energize the cities and towns. And all this under the rumble of cannonades, the whistle of rocket artillery and the roar of air strikes.
We are dying at our working places, in our manufactories, at our homes. Every day. Not only for ourselves, but also for you. Because this monstrous darkness turned out to be common for us.
We send you photo summaries of the day before. These were our colleagues who with their bare hands stopped tanks from your country in the city of Energodar, in the very South-East of Ukraine. The military was not allowed into the satellite city of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the local thermal power plant. And this emergency brigade is raising footings in the field, where shells of heavy artillery and tanks were exploding 40 minutes earlier. And this is a substation destroyed by shelling, which our colleagues are restoring in order to bring back power to dozens of cities and towns. This is what this war looks like to us. War for the right to live and work on our land.
We are not complaining complain. Not at all. It's not in our nature - you know. Today we turn to you, to the same people and professionals. We perfectly understand that the electricity produced by you was refracted for you through the ugly matrices of TV screens and sowed hatred and contempt for us, for freedom, truth, for anything for the sake of money and power.
We stand firm in spirit and faith that we will win. We know that this horror of war was brought to our home not so much by your sons, your brothers, as by your distraught power. Ready to kill by the thousands, hit us with rockets, and throw you in jail for expressing our point of view, without even leaving your palaces. Looking at you and us from the decks of their yachts.
We are power engineers! We chose to provide people with heat and electricity to be our life credo. Our work is the basis of the economy and well-being. We are confident that you are able to stop your government, which unleashed this criminal war.
Our victory will give you a chance to gain freedom and return to the civilized world.
