DTEK Chief Executive Officer Maxim Timchenko took part in the large-scale International Ukraine Recovery Conference in the Swiss city of Lugano. Ukrainian public and private leaders gathered at the two-day event together with European government officials and top managers of international companies to outline plans for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

The conference participants worked on reviving the economy, energy sector, agriculture. As well as on social recovery, digitization, infrastructure, and environment. Maxim Timchenko participated in a series of discussions of the Ukrainian-Swiss business hub as a Ukraine Recovery Conference expert.

"Ukraine Recovery Conference is proof that no one in Ukraine and among Western partners has any doubt that Ukraine will win this war. Now, we are defending our sovereignty and the democratic values of the entire civilized world. Ukraine Recovery Conference is the first step and a significant event on the way to the recovery of post-war Ukraine, which should be happening in cooperation with international partners," said Maxim Timchenko.

In particular, Maxim Timchenko spoke during the special session "How business contributes to finding solutions for energy, climate, and food problems in Ukraine", organized by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine and the UN Global Compact in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

"Ukraine has the opportunity to use its geographical proximity and existing connections with European energy markets to support European energy security. This is possible due to plentiful wind and solar resources, potential in gas production, gas storage infrastructure, and future green hydrogen production. The will of international investors is already there. Therefore, Ukraine needs to ensure political guarantees and transparent game rules in order to realize the existing potential," added Maxim Timchenko.
