We are seeking a Head of Operations with a strong background in the renewable energy industry, specifically in the area of wind / solar power. The Operations Department will be responsible for both the operations and maintenance of our projects, and the physical export of power. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of O&M contracing, data analysis, commercial electric power sales, and communication with government and grid companies. As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the wind and solar power plants, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity, and managing a team of professionals.

What you will do

• Recruit and build a “best in class” Operations team responsible for technical as well as commercial asset management,
• Lead and manage the operations team to ensure safe operation while maximizing efficiency and productivity of the wind/ solar power plants
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, tools and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Negotiate and manage all third-party O&M agreements
• Monitor and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and optimization of the power plants
• Work closely with commercial sales team to develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability of the power plants
• Build and maintain relationships with government agencies and grid companies to ensure compliance and facilitate communication
• Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms to provide timely updates to senior management on the performance of the power plants
• Manage the budget for the power plants operations and identify opportunities for cost savings
• Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in the area of commercial asset management and technical operations
• Proven track record of managing and leading operational teams in the renewable energy industry
• Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and interpretation
• Excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with government agencies and grid companies
• Strong commercial skills (experience in selling renewable energy power is highly regared)
• Understanding of renewable energy policies, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate an international team to achieve common goals
