DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko took part in a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and CEOs of businesses

On February 23, 2022, President of Ukraine held a meeting with TOP-managers of top-50 domestic companies in Kyiv. The event was attended by owners and TOP-managers of the largest Ukrainian companies and business groups. The head of state discussed issues of support from big business during an unprecedented threat to the country's security. The President put an emphasis on the much-needed contribution of the Ukrainian businesses.

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko attended the meeting.

“The most important thing is that we all agreed upon that today we need to consolidate the efforts of the state and business. Consolidation is primarily needed to support the economy. All participants expressed an unequivocal position - we are ready to consolidate and do everything possible, everything that depends on us in order to stabilize the situation and be confident in our future. Requests, ideas, suggestions of business representatives have been taken into account. As a representative of Ukrainian business who is responsible for strategic infrastructure - power plants, mines, grids - I am convinced that the situation will remain stable, there will be enough coal, enough electricity. And this is the most important thing” - Maxim Timchenko noted.

Energy sector is the industry insuring the stability of business, quality of life of, the energy independence and energy security of the country.

On February 24-26, the Ukrainian energy system will operate in an isolated mode, disconnected from the energy systems of Russia and Belarus - this is the first stage of testing the Ukrainian energy system for subsequent synchronization with the European ENTSO-E power grid.

“I am sure that we will go through these four days with dignity, we will pass this exam and the energy system of Ukraine will soon become a part of the European energy system,” said Maxim Timchenko, DTEK CEO.
